Dr. Thakkar specializes in care of adults and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He has a broad experience for several years to treat illnesses from simple to the most complex; in the office and in the intensive care unit. Dr. Thakkar's special interests are obesity, cancer preventions, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, lung diseases like COPD and asthma, cardiovascular diseases etc.
Health issues are often complex and sensitive. Dr. Thakkar believes that listening and enabling joint decision-making with his patients, their families and across medical specialties is vital to a patient's well being. Dr. Thakkar evaluates patient as a "whole person" rather then person with a particular health condition.
